My Heart

My Heart

A Poem by Hannah

I can feel your presence, your touch, your love

Your once warm hand has turned to ice

Ready to freeze me at a single touch

Eyes that held happiness have now turned dead

Resembling my heart, you have become broken

A broken shell with no contents

A cold sigh signals you’re beside me

Rekindling my love once again

My cheek ices from your kiss and my heart warms

A whisper encouraging acceptance graces my ear

Though your touch warms me

Your plea turns my stomach and breaks my heart

Though you have left me with a broken heart

You have given me a gift

I now have memories, true love and self-assurance

I miss you

I love you

My heart

This is bittersweet ... both hot and cold ...
both love and 'loss' of love ... both coming then going.
I'm glad you entered this into my "Longing For Love" contest.
Thank you!
