ObservantA Poem by Hanna01A poem about our society and in which circumstances we live
Money is the only thing that counts
It’s made of blood and sweat of workers
But produced by the people higher than the sky
It’s not like they’d have the time to spend it anyway,
How thoughtful
The streets are full of blood
Darkness seeps into my skin
Millions of cold eyes are staring at me;
Judging.
Skeletons are hurrying down the street
They think their emptiness makes them beautiful;
It doesn’t.
“Please, make it stop!”, Satan cries and flees back to hell
Everything green and fair around us fades to dust
Kings live in their high castles
They allow their starving servants to feed them
They think it makes them generous;
It doesn’t.
“Racism isn’t a problem” say the white people
While dark blood is seeping out every pore
In the middle of a ghetto where the palest thing is the white vest they claim to have,
Hardly surprising.
