Winter Cycle

Winter Cycle

A Poem by Hannah

Murky ponds freeze, rain turns to snow

Tall proud pine trees, dressed in white, stand against the biting cold

Leave-less limbs dance in the gentle breeze

Furry rabbits poke through the snow, basking in the light

The deep snowbanks melt, snow turns to puddles

Bright sun, shining on the forest, brings new life

And so the cycle continues of seasons and years. Nobody told me life would be so long. Of course when I was young I thought it would last forever. Now, the cold settles in my bones and I can feel winter in more than just the change of seasons. But there are seasons of nature and seasons of mankind. All things have their appointed time.

Have reviewed this one previously, Hannah, but it is well worth revisiting.

Lovely imagery and description of the moments when the depths of Winter finally give way to the rebirthing touch of Spring.

Very nicely written.
