it will keep...

a tree sits in the yard before me
limbs spread out open wide
its leaves softly blowing by
a history of life etched inside

such a  long time having been there
with each season it has known
of this changing world it's had it's share
and of age it has surely grown

from the earth it does nourish
and of the sky it seems to reach
with each rain it will flourish
so much to tell but never a speech

Summer has left for another year it will keep
Fall is upon it as it's leaf are on the ground
Winter approaching where it will seem to sleep
awaiting Spring so that to life it'll come around
