Walls

Walls

A Poem by Hana Saemon
"

A comment on the civil war in Syria and at home

"
Stone throwing
Noone's moving
Stand ground
Noone's changing

Walls up
Tears shed
Fresh wounds
Vultures fed

An internal battle
A civil war
No end in sight
What is it for?

Hope disappearing
Slowly dying inside
Blood spilled all over
As day turn into night

Whatever happened
To what was good?
Has the love gone
Replaced by ashes and soot?

I sit here and watch
The dreams shattering
Stones thrown against brick walls
Neverending fighting

I lay here and wonder
Are there just too many
Too many differences
We are not who we used to be

Are we still on
The same side of the wall
Or have we built one between us
One that is just too tall?

As the death toll stacks
And smoke fogs what was clear
I reach out for you
But in the darkness, you disappear

This is a sad write, raw and emotional. But that is what draws the reader in, the raw emotion emulating from this piece. A powerful write!
