Devoured

Not in a good place and just feeling like... well... read on.

 

Scars… here… everywhere

Like ugly tattoos inked

Blood red, they are no more

Just painful reminders in pink

 

Mirrors reflect only the surface

The surface full of smiles

The surface of happiness

The surface full of lies

 

Dark feelings devouring

The sanity of what used to be

Consumes and feeds

Leaving carcasses of what was me

 

Happiness, is all we desire

A world of rainbows and butterflies

But sometimes it rains

Sometimes there are tears in the eyes

 

Will you listen?

Will you be there?

When what I don’t understand

I can no longer bear

 

Will you fix all these

The broken pieces?

Or will you pack and leave

Til the darkness ceases?

Dark, angry, and lonely... your words convey those emotions very well, Hana. It's always hard for me to review / comment on the darker emotional poems because, as we all know, sometimes our most powerful pieces come from the depths of our despair. So perhaps it's a left-handed compliment to say you've written something beautiful, when the cause of it was something so sad. I hope that makes sense. *hug*

Thanks lily! Sometimes we just have down moments and yesterday was one of those darker days. Im glad that i have an understanding partner who bears with it all, even though he is the one with cancer and in need of more support than i do.
