In your eyesA Poem by Hana SaemonLove for an orphanWith big wide
eyes You look at
me I still
remember The fear,
no glee
Glee is something
you should have But pain
was all there was to see Pain from
experiences you shouldn’t have Pain from
the love taken away prematurely
You cowered You felt
cornered As I stood
there Nothing but
a stranger
While the
others, they run and play You sit
alone, eyes full of biting tears Tears for
the loss, so uncalled for Tears for
the abuse that caused your fears
Trust
plundered by the very people you depended on Trust
stolen by the people who should’ve given love Trust once
broken, can never be replaced Trust taken
by those above
In the
dark, an angel looks after you “She is my
mother”, I heard you say But the
nightmares still keep you awake Flames from
the past, memories of yesterday
My dear,
love is all that I have to give Love was
all that you’ve ever needed Darling, I’d
take away the pain Put some
sparks in those eyes so jaded
Now several
months later, A stranger
to you I am no more Those six
year old eyes no longer fear In my arms,
you are safe and secure
In your
eyes, now I see Strength
and hope, courage smouldering Bursting,
flaming, burning with fire Yet gentle,
tender, soft and loving
Do not let
it die For you
have so much more in you Let it come
alive I have
faith, I hope you do too © 2013 Hana SaemonFeatured Review
