For my partner... as far away as he may be. i hope he remain strong battling his cancer, and that he knows how much he means to me and that i am waiting for him.
All our
lives,
We have
walked different paths
Searching
for the right way.
Lost.
Hunger for
company,
Never
alone, but lonely.
We searched,
For that
beacon of light.
They say
there will be a light,
At the end
of the tunnel.
So we
trudged,
In darkness.
Looking for
that light.
Where is
the end?
Blinded, we fell,
Gasping, we
stumbled.
We got up,
We fumbled.
Still…
nothing.
Still…
silence.
Still
alone.
But in our
hearts,
We had
faith.
That He is there,
Our prayers
He hears,
Our prayers
He will answer,
The path He
will show.
And as we
walked in that scary darkness,
Unsure as
where to go,
Relying on
our senses,
Not knowing
exactly what to do.
Is this it?
To be
living a mere existence?
Just
walking,
Just
existing...
Just
somebody… anybody,
One of the
everybody.
Then one
day,
In that
darkness.
A strange
presence emerged
So drawn to
it
I
walked to that presence
I felt a
hand
I heard a
voice
I sensed a
heart,
Beating as
fast as mine.
And in that
darkness,
I saw you.
Prayers
answered,
The right
path, I’m on.
No longer
lost
No longer
alone
No longer
as scared
For as long
as I have you
In
darkness, I can see.
We might
still fumble,
We might
still stumble,
We might
still tumble,
We might
even fall.
Like the
most precious of stones,
Diamonds,
rubies and sapphires,
Ugly, dirty
and plain,
But through
the polish and pain,
They shine
for all to see.
We too have
to go through the same,
Before we
could be,
Like that
beautiful ruby.
You are my
dream came true,
You are
what made the arduous journey worth every pain.
You are what
make the present surreal.
And…
I am
waiting for that day that you will take my hand,

I love this piece. Your partner is very blessed to have such nice words written by you. "You are what made the arduous journey worth every pain." This line right here is amazing, so honest and raw. I love it. Its a real declaration of love when the pain in life is made worth it by someone's presence in your life. Great writing, looking forward to reading much more from you. Love your style and the words you use. Keep that pen to paper, you rock :)

You have allowed the reader to take a peek into your world with this one. Very honest emotions throughout the poem. There are some good rhymes thrown in the mix. "Ugly, dirty and plain,
But through the polish and pain". This was an enjoyable read. LydI**
