You and me, we are the sameA Poem by Hana SaemonJust something i wrote when i read about the atrocities happening around the world, the war, the pain, the sufferings, racism etc.You and me,
we are the same
When Alex
Ferguson announced his retirement, We sighed
and groaned, Lamenting
on the future of United, Holding our
heads while we moaned.
We have
loved, And we have
lost, We had done
things, At a cost.
Your eyes
sparkled in excitement, I laughed
in amusement, We cried
out in amazement, Caught up
in the moment.
And when
the sun rises, We too
rise, And when
the sun sets, In bed we
lie.
You see, We are the
same, You and I, Different
only by name.
Maybe too,
by the colour of our skin, Maybe by
the colour of our hair, Maybe by
the educational qualifications we hold, Maybe by
the burdens we bear.
Your sun
may rise, When mine
goes down. Maybe the
size of my jeans Are bigger
than yours by one.
But how
does that make you different, When my
blood is as red as yours, How does it
give me the right, To take
your land by force? So you see, We are the same, You and I, Different only by name. © 2013 Hana SaemonFeatured Review
