Words for poisonA Poem by Hana Linzithis is a poem i wrote in school about someone that really meant something to me. Hope you enjoy it :)You come around, Not that often, For not that long Always have something Better to do, Someone better to be with Never the one, I’m never the one I’m the only one who really cares You’re a broom Sweeping me away Every chance you get I’m no good in those black holes eyes Not seeing anything in front of you You’re a monster! Big red eyes Comes out when No one sees you Devouring souls Putting fears in eyes. Making children not sleep at night You are a villain Once you have the power, Holding them in your hands Gripping with all your might Not letting them see pass the tint They never knew what you had Never knew your plans or desires You were never the same since then. Feeding on victims you once adored You were the man everyone looked upon Devoured all the looks, and love you shown I see the true side of you You held your hand out I was unknowing of the true you You’re the devil Hiding the red tint of your face The long pointed tail That you stab people in the back The blood and trust flowing out The moans and cries at night The words you spoke are poison We believed it though Now taking the wrath of what we once consumed I devoured the love you shown But love is like a mirror You can’t always fix something broken without breaking yourself. I know how it goes, I broke myself trying to piece The ridges back together The cuts and blood pours out In pain and agony, I try piecing them back together, One on top of another, Trying to pit that one piece in, Oblivious of it not compatible Shards of glass all around me, My hands are weakened due The sharp pieces of glass Lodged in my palm, The blood slowly oozing out around the glass. Ignoring the pain in my hands, One by one I try piecing the unfixable mirror back. Love takes time Time is a ticking time bomb Sooner or later I’ll take the pain off my back. I walked away and let it all shatter to a thousand pieces.
