![]() my dreams to be me!A Story by Hana LinziLife isn’t the easiest to pass through like a Wal-Mart line. When you can walk in grab what you want; and after you pay, you’re back out. You have your obstacle to go through, not knowing if you have to run through swarming demons or jumping over sharks. Being a teenager is the hardest to get through. Always pushing to be loved, accepted, but also having to look to your own future. Everyone wants to be accepted by everyone, but how? As you swarm through the crowds of a noisy hallway, one teen has a comment about your outside appearance. What they don’t know is what is truly going through your own heart. They make the comments about you wearing sweat pants with a sweat shirt, but you’re hiding the bruises underneath of what happened the night before. You hide all the pain, the scars so no one else can see what’s truly going on behind those doors no one can see through. Everyone goes through the teenage years being talked about. Teenagers are like a twitter post of drama. Why judge on the outside, when you don’t know the full story of what’s truly happening. Why judge when all you see is what they wear? Rumors can roam through a crowd in less than a minute. The truth is not truly reveled through that rumor. Just like your comment on what someone is wearing, comments aren’t telling the truth of why. The comments aren’t telling anything that’s truthful. What you don’t know is that person is hurting inside for a lie you said. When it’s your name being brought up you feel the same and freak out. Why bother saying those rumors when you can use that breathe making this life betting, bigger, happier? Everyone labels you as something, like you could be labeled prep, losers, trouble makers, nerds, god freaks, or many more. No one knows the real you, show the real you, you’re getting judged anyways right? Make that judgment the true you. I changed myself to fit what everyone else wanting me to be like, and that wasn’t me. I was caring so much about what people thought of me, I wasn’t thinking of myself. People judge you but the only people should judge you are yourself and God. So why label at all? No one is supposed to be alike; no one is supposed to identical. Everyone should have their own talents, their own beliefs. Why hide the real you? Show the person god made you to be. Make yourself shine as the person who didn’t care what the paparazzi’s are finding out, what they lie about because you are you, the person god made you to be. You think it’s just the outside world that you try to be accepted by? No, you try with your family as well. You thrive to be accepted by your own family, you tear yourself down. Whether it is to make them all smile, to getting a 110 percent in every class. Joining things you hate, just to make your parents happy. Pushing yourself so hard to make everyone think you’re someone you’re not. Sometimes being yourself is the best way of all, they will excepted you either way, even though they might be a little disappointed. Just because they are your parents, sometimes you just need to say, I need to be myself. They will love you either way you pick. They will help you back up when you fall down; and help you to find the right paths to go down. Every teen has goals that their family, friends, and even they throw on themselves to achieve. Soon they give up on their own future, their dreams to be. Why give up on what you truly want to be? Have the faith and hope that you can do what you truly, deeply down in that heart want to do. One goal you need to always have is having time for yourself. Have just some time to be the person you want to be. Accomplishing your true self, the one God wants you to be. Everyone is so scared on what the outside world has to tell them that they don’t focus on what they should. Ignore the comments that people pass through this world because they truly don’t know who you are. Why thrive on tearing yourself down just to make everyone proud? Take a step at a time, but try hard. Live the life you want to be, set it, and head for it. Stay committed to your true desires. Be yourself no matter what the outside world has to tell you. You are you, and no one can change the way you are. Being a teenager is the hardest part of the obstacle of life. You just have to be smarter than the fears you have. Set aside all the things stopping you and focus on the finish line. Then you will be the champion, even if your last place. Everyone who passes the finish line to their own dreams, their own destiny are winners. Just remember put it in your head, my dreams are to be me. © 2012 Hana LinziAuthor's Note
