Ambrosial Glee

Ambrosial Glee

A Poem by Hamkar
"

Written using the words: flame, imprint, quiver, arrow, pursue, contrive, subjugate, ambrosial, voluptuous, indulgent

"

Meandering along the autumn breeze

Cinta peeks out from behind the trees

You, full of your thoughts, head downriver

It’s love, with arrow and quiver

His pelt, white with voluptuous dignity

You amble along, alone with self-pity

He imprints emotion upon the bow

Oh how such a long time ago

It is a shame that time should run

So quickly when life has merely begun

He had contrived a plan without question

And had then pursued your own depression

The flame burnt higher

For your love was no liar

You had been subjugated by his ambrosial glee

Indulgent in this centaur’s fee

Cinta was there to pierce through your hide

And send affection straight to inside

To let you bleed until there is none left

Except for one occupied heart taken in theft

Author's Note

Hamkar
Cinta is Indonesian for love - I thought it was quite a pretty name.

I have used a AABB CCDD etc. rhyme scheme, do you think it halts the poem? Or the two parts of the story merged? I'm not quite certain on this one yet.

I enjoyed this very much. Excellent use of the words given. Well worded, good flow. I think the two parts merge nicely. Thank you for sharing.

This is very descriptive and the imagery is beautiful this tells a tale of love but has almost a sad tone to it.
