Not Everyone Knows

Not Everyone Knows

A Poem by Hamkar

A new poem style than I am used to.

Not Everyone Knows

Not everyone knows the truth,

That, even when youth

Is old, life still breathes and glows

The truth, not everyone knows .

Not everyone knows the lies,

That, sometimes even the wise,

Take the risk and let them pose,

The lies, not everyone knows.

Not everyone knows the happiness,

When certain people treat you like a princess,

The time of no lows,

The happiness, not everyone knows.

Not everyone knows the sorrow,

Those rules life has to follow,

That makes you full of woes,

The sorrow, not everyone knows.

The rhyming pattern is excellent, and it fits this poem very nicely. I do very much like the repetition, it shows the power of it all. Nice work, hamkar.

Very nice take on the form, Hamkar. While it is not technically a Swap Quatrain, it is so very close to the heart of the style that I'll accept it. You used the same rhyme in the last to lines in each of your quatrains (AABB, CCBB, DDBB, EEBB), while the Swap requires a different rhyme for each quatrain (AABB, CCDD, EEFF etc.).

I like the perspective you're conveying within the write itself. Young or old, even when you know should know better, despite what you're told, or you tell yourself as life goes on, nothing really can take away the sting can it?

Thank you for participation in the Poetry in-FORM_ation Challenge.

This poem is great. The stanzas flow together well. I don't see any problems with it though i do see how some people may not see how they flow together

I got the 1st and the 2nd stanza, but i didn't get the last two. Other than that, great poem and it has people wondering about the meaning.
