broken in twineA Poem by Marc Hamelthis is an outline of my own struggle with the issue of compromise and disordered attachment, inspired by the trailer for "Age of Ultron"your not worthy, all tangled in strings. pulled back by duty and reasonable compromise, broken between the clean and the caring jekyll and hyde, only whole as one, only fulfilled as two a ship in the bay, tied to too many docks, reaching the seafloor with a hundred anchors, all worthy, all wastes, this is not my destination, to be held both at a distance from freedom and the rocks, to cut each cord is agony, danger, loss. these lines are the cage holding the bird i love to lose her means discovery of the truth. is there love here? or just attachment? raise my sails and discover, will you follow? i must escape this place, mental state of static, the cup in my chest fills to the rim and stops, just enough for me. is this who i am? the lines, ropes, string, cord and twine rip and tear and snap as i pull away powered by the winds of discontent, i flee. will anything i love follow? or am i alone? journey with me, watch the sunrise of my life as i cut through the choppy waters like a knife ever onward to the eternal adventure. who am i? i dont know, but i know where i must go. there are no strings on me. © 2015 Marc HamelAuthor's Note
