Living in the Muck

Living in the Muck

A Poem by Cassick Dame

Dedicated to Schroeder

It's a crazy world full of misfortune
It's a messy system full of mistakes
Those on the top came from luck
And those on the bottom live in the muck

Schroeder was from a small family
The family held a small farm
The small farm was stuck in the tune
Misfortune makes it so you have nothing to lose

Schroeder had an idea of humor
And he had a laugh and a smile like no other
Schroeder had a loving family
Standing for themselves and no other
They knew it wasn't easy- as it was never meant to be
Mistakes tell you what you're about to lose
Schroeder may have been a friend to trouble
But he never tried to make a meeting
Stayin' clear and clean
Though trouble never let up
And was slithering in the shadows
Of a broken window
Schroeder's silhouette sitting alone
Trouble being all that he's known

Never considered himself below
Or an unlucky or needy
He just kept walking down the roads
Of this crazy world of misfortune
