Hear, See, Speak

Hear, See, Speak

A Poem by Cassick Dame

I can't hear much anymore
A whisper is lost to me
It fades in the air
A person's words don't mean a thing
I cannot comprehend 'em anyways
A bomb can explode
Won't mean anything to my mind
And if our world exploded
And shut everything away
I wouldn't hear it, at any time of day

Those blind people cannot see
They can touch and they can sense
But a man's eye they cannot stare into
A woman's beauty they cannot get to know
The roaring jealous they can only guess
A person's anger they can only predict
Darkness they see
But cannot know
They can feel just about anything
But cannot describe a thing

The other's cannot speak
Left listening to the cannons
Left seeing the dead
No word to utter, no scream to shout
No whimper to cry out
They see destruction and loss of humanity
They see the world become lopsided
Nonce of their dreams seem to come true
But there is nothing they can do
Just stay standing and keep watching
