Midsummer's DreamA Poem by Cassick Dame
It was a midsummer's dream, our love
It had sprung from an old truck And here while fixing it I found myself mending my heart While I looked and found something I didn't want to take apart It didn't matter much to me before Though now I know what I've been missing Your love to me is all I'll be needing It was a deep black night that we sang Our songs and lullabies, oh they went on a ride And they echo all through the chambers The chambers of time And, oh I couldn't get you out of my mind Oh, I know I was missing nothing Your love to me is all that I need Oh and it did run Going from the start until it spun Oh and it did take a fall down into it all I regret trying to stand tall. It was just a midsummer's dream- our love in those trees Nothing would change us at all
I wouldn't change anything at all And now I know what I'm missing Your love to me © 2016 Cassick DameAuthor's Note
