Ultimate sacrifice

A poem about a loving husband to his wife

There was once a father and a child

they lived together and loved each other,

they had a happy life,

whenever the child was sick,

the father would help the child get better,

when the child was sad, he would comfort the child,

when the child was lonely, he would be there,

and every day they would go into the woods to learn and play,

the father would tell the child tales of a perfect land,

where hunger and sadness were not known,

he would tell the child, if he followed him,

that the child would go there with him,

 

However one day,

the child was sitting with the dad,

when a tear fell from the fathers eye,

the child asked why he was crying,

the dad smiled and said, "Because there is a wolf coming,

a hungry wolf, and he shall kill me."

 

the child was horrified,

the child begged him that he was kidding,

but the father was speaking the truth,

the child crawled into a ball, and wept heavily

the father grabbed the child gently,

and said,"I am doing this to protect you."

 

The child was so angry and confused,

"How could you leave me, I will die without you!"

the child screamed to there father,

the father said, "If you follow what I taught you, then you shall never die."

He hugged him one last time before a deep growl was heard,

they turned around to see a wolf,

an ugly massive wolf, with blood red teeth,

pure black eyes, and manged hair

the wolf then spoke,"I shall devor both of you and you will have died for naught"

The wolf lunged, but the child looked away,

however the  child could hear their father screaming,

the wolves claws sounded like rusty nails,

his bite sounded like wood breaking and cracking,

the child heard the father scream as if he was in a pile of thorns,

the child heard the pain the father went through,

until.... silence

 

The child turned around to see a dead wolf, and a dying father,

the child ran up to their father, with tear filled eyes,

the child began to cry, the child went to grab their father,

but the father grabbed his child first,

He wispered in the childs ear,"My child, I have raised you the right way, if you follow what I taught you, you shall not die, but you shall see me and the perfect land."

His hand then went limp, and he died,

the child then cried for a long time,

 

Years later the child grabs the photo of his father,

but could not bear to look at it,

the child began to cry, and as the child cried,

a voice.....

"My child, why do you cry over my death, I promised I would return, my child it is time, I have retured to lead you to the perfect land."

 

The child ran up to their father and clutched on him hard,

"I miss you so much." The child weeped in the fathers cloths,

"If you come with me, I will be there and shall always be there."

The child and the father then left to the perfect land,

and lived happily.....  forever after.....

hm, not sure my longest poem, if you can tell it has a hidden message, symbolism, im sorry if this is not good, but it was straight from my heart....
