FatherA Poem by Half DreamHaunted by your image Tortured by your memory To be hated by those that loved you To hear your name Triggers all the pain Your words cut deeper than any knife How could you do that to your children and wife Every good memory Is followed by five bad ones Why do I have to reflect on you this way Looking into the mirror, I'm reminded of you everyday It wasn't our fault Still yet your emotions can to a halt As you neared the end No matter the words My heart wouldn't mend My childhood you stole away And for that is why you left that way Still tender to the touch How could you hate us so much Our relationship was based on hate, anger, and distrust Where ever you are now I hope that some how You can emotional heal From all that you pretended not to feel. © 2014 Half DreamReviews
