Words For Thought

Words For Thought

A Poem by AnonymouslyPerfect

Death
It's unavoidable
Yet we still attempt to fool ourselves into thinking we can escape
But all we accomplish is to get even more tangled up in its net

Life
We grasp at it
Claiming we have not fulfilled it to our likings
Yet we never try to do anything to advance ourselves to that unobtainable goal

Regret
Like an anchor
It holds us down so we can't advance to the next destination
But we can not rid ourselves of this nuisance without a little bit of effort

Joy
The holy grail
We adventure great distances to obtain it
Though if we just took the time to appreciate our surroundings it would present itself to us sooner

Love
The final trial
We push it away and put it off because we are afraid
But this is the final destination for anyone to strive to reach and is the only way one will be truly satisfied in this life
