The AnswersA Poem by MattA lonely summer night
As I puff a cigarette and stare at the summer sky
I think of all I've got and then I question why Satisfaction is a thing so far removed from me And despite years of claiming faith I never quite believed I try to pull those I love so close that they just pull away And every time I long for you it just ends up in pain I toil and I pray and search to find some peace But no matter if I listen God never answers me I know we're growing older and our lives are moving on Soon you'll be off at college and I'll go back to my job Time and time again I miss my every chance But I'd offer you everything if you would spare one dance © 2012 Matt |
