What is Beautiful

Just a quick poem I wrote

I am a 90's woman

I was brought up when Barbie was popular

Though I did not own Barbie that I know of

She was skinny

Her hair was long and silky

And she resembled the "perfect woman"

Growing up, every girl I knew wanted to be a model like Barbie

Yes even me at one point

But then I realized that it wasn't healthy

It wasn't healthy to eat so little and starve so much

I recently submitted pictures to a bunch of modeling agencies

And got rejected by all

"You're face is scarred and you're a size 9" they said

So that means that I cannot be a model?

Because I have scars and I'm not a twig?

Who are you to tell me what is beautiful?

I think my pictures are fine

Yes I'm not without fluff

Even if I did weigh 300 pounds, what means that isn't beautiful

Beautiful is not defined as the skinniest, tannest, or most physically attractive person

Because the most beautiful people, are the ones who have self confidence

My self confidence is not sky high I admit

But my size nine is healthy

My scars tell a story

And I am beautiful.

I think you are more beautiful than any other women I know .... I dont like skinny women , I really think that a woman need to be first womanly , and not thin like she is starving herself .... love it and i agree who wants a barbie anyhow i want a normal loveing intelligent woman who will be my friend as well as my lover not some rake that will run off with the first guy who can offer somthing diffrent. but onto the poem ican see your pain hun and i see how real it is in every word that you write and you write well very well you should be proud of this you buetiful wonderful young woman. :))))
