Mend What is Broken

Written when I was fighting with a friend.

I could try, pretend even, that nothing has changed, that everything is the same as it once was. . .but that would be false of me. It would be a lie towards us. I cannot lie, I love and care for you deeply, but it is just not the same as it once was between you and me. We have let whatever we once had between us fade into the darkness and will never get it back. If we try, we could possibly regain what we once had. But only if we try. . .
