Why'd you leave me?

Why'd you leave me?

A Poem by Daughter of Darkness
"

My mom left two and a half years ago. So...this is what it is about.

"
Why'd you leave me?
Why didn't you come back?
You said you would.
But it's been more than a few weeks.
Momma, it's been exactly two years, seven months and twenty three days.
You left on new years
If you don't remember.
Why'd you leave me?
You have money to come
I know that.
You might be scared
But momma, it will only get worse the longer you wait.
You would get me more then them.
Momma, come back.
Why'd you leave me?
I need you.

The fact that you count the years, months and days shows the agony being suffered on a continuous basis. Being deserted must be one of the hardest things to go through. Something that breaks you down psychologically and leaves you a mess. Sad poem.

Abandonment and the pain it bores are not something you can cover with a sheet and pretend that they don't exist. I can only hope that writing your pain down brings you some sort of comfort. Some wounds never heal. I wish yours would at least become scars. Barely visible scars.
Be strong! Don't give up on writing :)
