Silent Rain

Silent Rain

A Poem by Joan Probst
"

Hope is a bitter sweet moment

"
Silent Rain
Hale Strider

Success was hers
One last chance
She will no longer be kicked by their spurs
Now, it was just a dance

Weaving through alleys
Rain thumps windows
Passing by Emily’s
Now she is able to go

*click* the sound of a gun
Fear pierces her heart
Her blood as hot as the sun
She turns to feel a bitter bark

Everything is still
Everything is silent
The ground is hard
The rain is silent

The gunman is still
Her sobs are silent
The world is still
The rain is silent

Her sweet release
A bitter taste
A moment still
A moment silent

The last few stanzas don't have a rhyming pattern which is intentional. Please leave constructive criticism :)
