THE BEGINNING IS AHEADA Poem by HalcyonNationA poem about the attitudes I've witnessed. Sad, almost.
THE BEGINNING IS AHEAD
So many paths
For hearts a-pine
No winding roads
Or crooked lines…
Just straight out shots
To our beginnings
And on, we’ll march
To the end of time.
We’re never fine
With what we got
What’s far from reach
Is what is sought
The present is
All but a gift "
Instead a ladder "
Rising swift.
And when we die,
Onward we’ll look
Reflect on teachings,
Holy Book
We’ll wash our hands,
We’ll clean our feet
Then seek the beginning
That’s out of reach.
And some of us
Will go to Hell
For loving them
And hating well
The lines are blurred
The thoughts absurd
But we are righteous;
It’s the Word…
There is a tale
Of an enemy, hurt
He’s lying on
The very dirt
They pick him up
They take him in
They wash the blood off
Of his skin
And this is the story
We are told
As children before
The world was cold.
But where’d it go?
And where are we?
Beating our brothers,
Tying them to trees.
When drunk, you laugh
You spew out hate
You pollute the air
With your righteous hate
You’re looking forward
At time in Hell
And preaching against them,
To serve us well.
So many paths
For hearts a-pine
No winding roads
Or crooked lines…
Just straight out shots
To our beginnings
And on, we’ll march
To the end of time.
