A Great Hunger

A Great Hunger

A Poem by Valentin Velkov

Flesh bags walking streets

Fat cats with bloody meats

Homeless to have first feast

Yet will not eat.

The endless hunger

That tears asunder

Mind that is under

A mask of little wonder

Oh, how it tears at him

The desire to dig into them

But if he does, what then?

He becomes an animal in a pen.
