A Pondering on that Damned Phantom

A Pondering on that Damned Phantom

A Poem by Valentin Velkov

In every painting, I see her face

In every song, I hear her voice

Upon my heart is her trace

And that heart does beat in haste

Will Romeo and love be akin?

Or be as ‘holy’ Hollywood

Perhaps Sweeney Todd, the tragedy of him

Why, the future be under hidden hood

But should I really love her?

For she could be but betrayer.
