Antidote

Antidote

A Poem by Haimanti Sen

Day in and Day out,

The same old

He never got tired

He pulled the dark Curtains when the rose,

He put on the Led lights

He dint care about anything in the world at the time.

Happiness was momentary

It had become a routine

He bought a gram or two a day

He pulled it all

The momentary happiness went onto addiction

he wasn't pulling white, the white was pulling him down

I watched him leap into fire

I stood there watching

Not saying a Word

He would never listen

He would never stop.

because  is not a disease

it is a decision,

like the decision to step out in front of a moving car.

You would call that not a disease but an error of judgment
