Anya

A Poem by Haimanti Sen

I want you to know one thing,

You know how this is

If I look at a nursery blooming with flowers

or the thorns trying to make its way to the rose

It reminds me of the strong woman you have been,

Without a wrinkle on the forehead

Your words ring in my ear when i'm on my knees

telling me "Its just a phase and Ill be fine."

you put me to my feet in my deepest darkest hour

You saw the beauty in me when noone could

I am all that i am because of your love to bring up a wayward girl like me

In me nothing has extinguished or forgotten

my love feeds on your love

and as long as you live it

it will be in your arms without leaving mine
