Late to Know

Late to Know

A Poem by Hachamecha

I didn't think you'd go far as to say

You'd die for me every day

But I couldn't return those feelings

love, infectious seedlings

I left you many a night

bloody, telling me I'm your light

I was sure your feelings were tainted

But for me, you trailed and waited

One day, the trailing was too much

you were dead to the world, and such

I didn't know that love had blossomed, my mate.

But I was too late,

to save you from the towering gate

of Hell

I like the twist in the end. Wow, he really would do anything for love...

This has such a melancholic beauty to it. I feel the pain and love combining and seeping from its words. It possesses both feelings of desperation and strength. Very nice writing!
