Chapter one

Chapter one

A Chapter by Hachamecha

It took some time to get to the 'dome.' But when we finally arrived, I was tired. The snow seemed so soft, I want to lay there for a bit, get a little sleep....

I jotled. Bad, BAD human! No dying. I sighed, dragging myself along with human boy over here with me, to the startling red dome. I wonder why I never saw it? We walked along, then stopped by an enormous door.

Human suddently sighed and jumped off. I shook myself, then stretched. Humans were heavy.

"Thank you Iana! And thanks... er... ah... Fluffy." The human weakly smiled, and I just nodded, turning to go back.

The door burst open, and a man bundled up to the extreme hurled himself at.. ah... right, Vane.

"Where were you, young man? I was worried sick, Vane!" The man I assumed was his father rambled on, until he spotted me and Fluffy.

He looked at Fluffy strangely, and his face drained of all color when he saw me, but he quickly covered it up.

"Do you see the girl in the polar bear, Vane?" He asked him, frantic.

"Yeah, that's Iana. Fluffy and Iana saved me from dying." Vane smiled

"The man stood up very straight, then looked at me warmly. "Thank you! I am forever in your debt! Please, do come in. I apologize, but Fluffy may not come." He smiled apologetically.

I shook my head. The smell of human was too strong, and Fluffy encouraged me to reunite with my species.

It's probably going to be the last time we are going to meet, Two-legs, Fluffy said. I'll miss you.

I shook my head. It's not. I'm not going to stay with these people. But just in case something bad happens.. Good bye, Fluffy. Maybe if I ever come back, I'll see you and your wife someday :)

Fluffy sent the smile sign to me, and I sent it back. We nuzzled, then he took off into the fine whiteness of the Arctic.

The man smiled at me, then said while opening the door for me, "welcome to the Dome."

I walked in, a queasy feeling as the door banged shut behind me, echoing the poorly lit hallway.

The man's shoes clicked on the floor as I followed him, Vane trailing shortly behind. It was unbearibly hot in here, but it was kind of nice.

"So Vane, who's your friend?"

Vane smiled shyly at me, then replied. "Here name is Iana. Iana Siren."

I just kept walking, not acknowledging the man.

"Well, Iana. My name is Professor Saner, but please, call me Mike. And here is my son, Vane Sander. I thank you for saving him."

I said nothing, trudging along. Human speech was too much for me to bear at the moment.

I studied the man, Mike. He had the same hair that Vane has, but laced with white. But he did not share the same mystic purpleish-green that Vane had. Perhaps that color is from his mothers side. But father and son shared the same posture, and height.

We arrived to a mess hall, all eyes me, forks frozen in hand.

The human called 'Mike' stood in the center of the room, and announced, "This remarkable girl right here saved my son from the cold. Please make her feel welcome. Her name is Iana, and she doesn't talk much. Thank you, and go back to your meals, please." Mike walked off, leaving me and Vane alone. I felt stares penetrating me, and I felt queasy. So many humans...

A human girl swaggered over to us, and by her face structure, I guessed that she was related to Vane.

"Hey little bro. Being Stupid and got nearly killed again, huh?" She tossed her hair, and laughed.

Vane rolled his eyes. "Well, Merlane, I'm alive, aren't I?"

She laughed, then  looked at me. "So this is the freak that got you home?"

He looked at her with disgust, then walked away. I was a freak, and I was proud to be one. I followed Vane to the food. He was getting a tray, and getting food, but I couldn't make myself stand up. Vane, sensing my discomfot, helped me up, then put a tray in fron of me.

Vane smiled. "Here, help yourself to as much food as you want."

I nodded, and took the tray. I looked at all the food on the table. Fruits, vegies, cooked meat... OMFG (I realized that how I used to speak came to me easily around humans. OMFG to me, is either oh my fake god [one of my personal favorites, seeing that there are SO many kinds of gods are out there], and oh my fabulous godzilla [my forever favorite]) So much food! I grabbed EVERYTHINg, and slamed my tray next to Vane's, then started eating. I tackled the pancakes, the bacon, the apples, then finished satisfied after I destroyed everything. Everyone was staring at me, mouths agape. I mentally shrugged them off, and rested my head on the table.

Vane tapped his finger on my shoulder.

I looked at him.

"Come here, let's get out of here." Vane whispered, and I nodded. I feel like I'm in the zoo, and I'm the animal. I guess that is sort of accurate. I am an animal-I lived in one for two years, havent I?

A excellent chapter. I like the parent and the way you made the story feel real life with the reaction of the people around her. I like her attitude toward the people.
