Belief

Belief

A Poem by Hachamecha

You once asked me

if I believed in angles

if I believed demons roamed the earth

if I believed in heaven

or if there's a hell

It doesn't matter what I believed in

because man once fell

because of his sin

It doesn't matter if you had fallen

even if you are kin

Demons?

we make our own

with torchure and mental pain

confusion corrupting my soul

All these thoughts

all this questioning

is taking a toll

The devil has no mercy

his black eyes glinting like coal

pleasure in pain

cruelty and mercy

love and hate

good and bad

side by side

but many lied

cause that's no good

there is no love

but there is betrayal

love only cuts

no, don't argue with me

don't utter any but's

I can't believe

in what I can't see

What I can't feel

then you know

it's not real

Destiny is a funny thing

my destiny is not yours seal

my life is not yours to steal

What do I believe?

Why can't I believe in me?
