Revenge

Revenge

A Poem by Hachamecha

We were happy

but when we heard the knock on our door

my parents paled

mother's lips white

My parents hastily hugged me

said they loved me

put me in a high cupboard

they out me out of sight

the door burst open

a man walked in

asked questions

that my parents never answered

He pulled the trigger

on my father

my mother screamed

tears streaming down my cheeks

He beat my mother

in the end, killed her

my sadness turning to anger

He left

leaving my parent's corpses

his face etched in my mind

I will always chase him

to the end of the earth

Even if I'm old and lined.

I play the image

of killing him

so many times

I trailed him

he slips between my fingers

like sand

like water

I will kill him with my hand

Justice, I demand

he will die by my command

When I found him

he was old

I was young

I grabbed my gun

pulled the trigger

I had felt pleasure

I had fun
