I Once

I said this aloud while standing at my window....

I had a dream once

That the clouds passed me by slowly

That the world spun in circles

I had a dream of Earth

Watching as it sank beneath the Sun

Pouring into liquid on the horizon

 

I had a dream once

That we all were sinless

That we were not to burdens bound

I dreamt of joy, oh how I dreamt

That our innocence gave

Us not to the grave

But would let us

In freedom fly

Without condemnation

Without sorrow

 

I had a dream once

That the world was a glory

That we would love and be loved

I had a dream of change

I had a dream

And in the dream

I died

I love the ending! In order to appreciate and experience joy and happiness and love we must also experience pain sorrow anger and loss. You need to know bad to appreciate good. I love this piece.
