Cosmic Dust, Humans and Nothing: Synonyms

Cosmic Dust, Humans and Nothing: Synonyms

A Poem by Henrique Kasai

Staring at the sky in a cloudy rainy night
sitting in the sidewalk just by the door
just back from work, eight hours of smoke
hours forever lost, not for the neighbor though
The b*****d was inside, fornicating what once was mine
I couldn't bring myself to stop, she was happy
with which face would I face her anyways?
fired from the job, fat, bald and ugly
The light rain suddenly became a downpour
I wished for a lightning to kill me and the happy 'couple'
nothing, just endless water, at least it could
hide my own tears which i haven't seen for long
Perhaps if I was a piece of nothing
wandering the dark and infinite universe
alone and lost in journey from anywhere to nowhere
I could find peace of mind or anything
"Stop being stupid old man, just kill yourself"
said myself, so I jumped from the Golden Gate
the next day frustration along with my wife
spouting sugar covered lies while i had to put a smile
aaaaah how I wish to be a nothing

I really like this poem. The first line in the second stanza literally made me say the word "dam" out loud. This is a great piece of writing.
