My Personal Judgement Day

My Personal Judgement Day

A Poem by KMA
"

This poem is for anyone who is forced to stand alone because of who they are.

"

I wear a mask of sorts

That hides what’s in my heart.

And if any should know how I feel,

They will turn from me, and depart.

I fear the day when this will come

And my heart turns into stone.

For on my personal judgement day,

I will stand alone.

I hear their laughter through the night

And see their smiles in the day.

I feel my tongue tripping on the words

That I find myself struggling to say.

They look at me with great approval,

But their disappointment will throw me from my throne.

For on my personal judgement day,

I will stand alone.

The tears will run freely,

But from me they will not fall.

No weakness can be shown"

You must hold your head up and stand tall.

I must have a unique courage,

The same before me had known.

For on my personal judgement day,

I will stand alone.

I’m on the road to my trial now,

The same too many had to walk.

I must not show my fear and pain

While they criticize and mock.

I know my trial will not be fair,

And this chills me to the bone.

For this is my personal judgement day,

And I must stand alone.

Not bad, and you painted a very clear picture here, but some of your word choice seems a little uninspired, to be honest. I feel like I've seen this same poem before a million times and there's really not anything that makes this particular piece stand out. I mean, it's not bad writing, and it's interesting and engaging, it's just very done.
