PICK AN ANGEL

PICK AN ANGEL

A Poem by Holly Mason

I am just a little one
Left alone this year
My mommy and daddy
Hurt something so dear
The lady said
I cannot stay
I have to leave
In order to play
My eyes are huge
My heart is pounding
Leaving only pain
That was surrounding
So much is new
My bones are mending
Pick my Angel
The one JESUS is sending
Yes, a simple toy
Doesn't seem like much
An angel wing
Is what to touch
You will not see
Or even be named
But know that I
Know you the same
No mommy or daddy
I do not understand
But giving a gift
Is in your very hand
Pick my Angel
Off of the tree
I am a little one
Longing to see
So many angels
Left this year
Hold me CHRISTMAS morning
Because ,I too am dear

Very nice Holly, so nice to see a new poem from you... there is no greater gift then the ones we give to those in need.
