Wanna Play?

Wanna Play?

A Poem by Holly Mason

squealing children run about
inner child come on out
stay and play, horse around
spinning and twirling, falling down
swing so high see toes in heaven
whipping, sending ,turning seven
balloons bouncing ,cake covered smiles
open presents ,screeching wild
messy fingers come to a stop
musical chairs, hop hop hop
squealing commences, fun in the air
all the way down to the last two chairs
fun delight in children's hearts
childhood is where laughter starts
the best days that blast away
but memories fondly forever stay

THink we should all remember that we're only little children grown up and - go play sometimes! Watching and hearing children having fun is so wonderful. Seeing faces when they notice something new, ask questions, look as they've discovered a miracle; it's just magical, all of it.
Adults are so adult far too often Those crumbs, those balloons, the swings and all, how innocent and simple they are, but what memories they leave. Reckon we have to make more before.. A beautiful poem.

Sending you love and smiles and prayers.

The innocence and beauty of childhood in perfect harmony and balance. I think that we can all look back to a time when things seemed more simple; for me, one of the most distinct memories I have of childhood is going to Disneyland and how big that castle looked as you walked down "Main Street". Now, I still love Disneyland, but it doesn't hold the same "wonder" as it did when I was young. Beautiful imagery and incredible flow.

The best times of childhood are hard to replace and especially in our growth we long to stay at a certain stage in our lives. A splendid one...:)

Children are our teachers sometimes. Like living time-capsules they show us times when we had no worries and the world was to be explored not feared.
Very enjoyable piece Holly - as always

Amen! Those were the best of times. Laughing and having fun with friends had a way of making all seem right.

Such wonderful imagery in this piece, portraying the innocence of sweet children. The laughter, the smiles. So much truth in this line, "childhood is where laughter starts" Well done, Holly.
