Wasteful Days

Wasteful Days

A Poem by Holly Mason

Quickly counting for my praise
wasting away in wasted days
forgotten trespasses start to find
a resting place in a peaceful mind
grasping and leashing ,expert advise
countering with counting, is a vice
hardships enter, anchors away
staying put in place, quietly I lay
coating coats in lovers arms
waking so wasted with unheard alarms
knowing is knowing so true they scream
no coupons for trespassing souls to redeem
a metaphor on the run with no leash
in a park with laws, I beseech
reaching full form for my praise
wasted again in my wasting of days
