Tag, your it

Tag, your it

A Poem by Holly Mason

Tag your it
freeze tag, stay

a swoosh, a breeze
a tap on the shoulder

move again and tag
freeze tag , stay

frozen in a spot
tag your it

now tag another
freeze them

freeze tag, stay
a tap on the back

move again and tag
turn sideways miss a tag

run and run
tag your it

chase and tag
freeze tag, stay

now hit the hay
bones frozen and stiff

Such a vivid memory of this simple game... I want to play! The easy joys of childhood - frozen in the memories of our bones. Great write, Holly!

i see the childhood in this, but i see another level...the tag we play with each other's hearts...and how often we are tagged, and we freeze...as children, we just start moving again...as adults who have experienced life, love and other stuff...it isn't so easy to move again.
