Skipping

Skipping

A Poem by Holly Mason

Now, one knee up
and the other down
hop on one foot
quick to the other
keep it going
pig tails bouncing
look at your arms
elbows are bent
trying to whistle
as down we went
skipping along
merrily were the days
laughing all the time
one knee up
and the other down
skipping back
holding hands
sidewalk chalk
water balloons
one knee up
and the other down
skipping, skipping
childhood found

Aaaah the memories of skipping, haha. All the skipping rope fights in school and the competitions.... This brought a smile to my face, amazing work, Holly!
