Who flooded my mind?

Who flooded my mind?

A Poem by Holly Mason

The ideas that float in my head
have poured out
crashing with such vengeance
spilled all over empty pages
all dams unblocked flowing thoughts abound
my mind jumps
happy ,sad ,happy ,sad
I believe a true writer
stops and wonders
am I crazy am I?
to convince myself I am not
is a hell of a task
then ideas wake me
knock on my midnight door
they crest in the small vapors
gathering them for a tsunami
happy ,sad ,happy, sad
creative flood
slow down to tell a story
not to slow it will mold
'crazy, not crazy
happy, sad ,happy, sad
whimsical waters
on a skiff I float
the waters dry into a cloud
the cloud bares a heavy load
then thoughts come down in rain
a constant mind storm
in constant waters form

I love it. A true writer stops and wonders am I crazy am I? I really wonder that all the time but I do love to write. Maybe we are better off not wondering but just letting the words come out? Plus how boring is someone who is totally sane?

sane so mundane*)
thank you for reading truly
As the saying goes, there is a fine line between madness and genius, and it is very true. Both aspects use the same creative part of the brain, both create what is not really there and we all sometimes get caught between fantasy and reality. There is nothing stranger than the mind. I always liked the saying that only the mad think they are sane. Life is too complex to be sane all of the time :-)
