Nothing Was Written

Nothing Was Written

A Poem by Holly Mason

A link in time
a lost poet's mind
the pen is death
the margin a grain
so little, so lost
a poor spirit entertains
a crisp walk
an ample glow
a telling time
for one to know
a tree, the aftermath
of a lost poet's mind
a path so meticulously
has ceased to align
no enormous faith
no gestures of a dream
poor lost poet's mind
play on again,scream
run rampant in words forest
caressing the scenes
have yet to redeem
a pen, a poet
and a lost
little dream

"Words forest" .....
Who hasn't written ourselves into a piece
Yet can't write our way out...
Absolutely maddening

Oh, I can relate to this. Haven't completely lost my mind, but it's definitely at the checkout waiting to be served. :-)

lost in that forest we try to write our way out, towards some fleeting dream that seems to be in the clearing...but is it really?

and wow "poor" is accurate..both literally and figuratively...in those lines i think you mean "poet's mind" possessive..

and yes, we have all to yet.."redeem"---but that will happen eventually.

This has a penetrating sadness. It is almost like a shadow. Delicate. A thing of lace, I think. --David

Your words are very kind
thank you much
Do our words help people grow in character? I believe they do. Our words can be like a seed that with a little sunlight and watering can grow into a massive tree that will draw people to find shelter under. Great writer Holly!
