One Snowman At A Time

One Snowman At A Time

A Poem by Holly Mason

Hands are cold
fingers so frozen
Snow man memories
worthy to be chosen
The first to be made
was undressed we regret
for we did not have
a snowman wardrobe just yet
He was a little crooked
a shifty kind of guy
but the next one was better
we had bought him
some eyes
to the third
we gave our full attention
with frozen fingers
as before I mentioned
It was a she
a snow birth beauty
with a wig and a hat
and even a snow booty
but they all will melt
leave us so sad
missing the frozen fingers
that we had
do we name them
for memories sake
no one snowman at a time
will good memories make

Snow woman booties always the best*)
Distant horizons

:-)
Been so long
Since I was forced out
To play
In the snow.

Building
People of snow
To keep me
Accompanied.

Only
To have them
Destroyed by
Others.

Never
To witness
The rites of passage
That a Spring thaw
Brings.

it could be too sad if we name them...our hearts will melt with them.
