the bay and me

the bay and me

A Poem by Holly Mason

Curved to the sun
a tree stump
a sitting seat
draping feet
into the water
watching the dolphin
splish splash splish
a diving pelican
above the bay
thinking thoughts convey
slowly the foot is dampened
a crab scurries by
a sail of sea
catches the sunset
a bay of beauty and rest
harboring feelings
a finger in the water
a taste test reveals
salty warm sting
sitting on a
sitting seat
a tree stump
the bays life
and me

You are welcomw , fine lady...:)
Just the suggestion of a bay, the water and a dolphin makes me smell the ocean and hear the sounds. This is a relaxing read that paints a picture for our mind's eye to see. Nice poem from you Holly.

Your lovely poem reminds me of my tour to our Bay of Bengal where a tree stump was half buried in the sand and offered us a wonderful place to sit on.It was an amazing experience for enjoying the beauty of the bay.
Thanks for sharing the wonderful poem and taking me to the bay in imagination.
Enjoy some photos of our bay published in Flickr :
