Mr.Tom Tuckers March

Mr.Tom Tuckers March

A Poem by Holly Mason

Walk so crisp.
Air so clean.
What a perfect,
mountain scene.

Woods to guard,
water to drink.
Who in the world,
Would ever think?

That Mr. Tom Tucker,
was on the brink,
sitting on the very edge,
of the worlds biggest sink.

Mr. Tom Tucker,
What is it that you think?
I think in pink not blue,
oh, what am I to do?

Well Mr. Tom Tucker,
why even care?
Because they all do.
The decision is not fair.

So Mr. Tom Tucker,
lets have a huge march.
We will get to the bottom,
of this social mark.

So Mr. Tom Tucker ,
and all his pink friends,
keep on keeping on,
till they never see blue again.

I enjoyed this read a lot Holly, even though I have no clue who Tom tucker is...I know, it's probably not important...but pink friends?? I'm old enough to put a different connotation on pink. Maybe you can whisper to me who he is or was...
Though I enjoyed the rhyming, especially the near/slant rhymes, I thought the lack of pattern, threw the rhythm off a bit. Not enough to matter really, it's still a most terrific write, but something I noticed while reading it. I also put it (in my head) to a Bob Dylanish tune and voila....a song. :) Got to sing it with a whine though.
Good work...

oh...back when...it meant pinko as in communist...also the effeminate
I am too stupid to understand this, but I think it's grand anyway. I like the kind of 'nursery rhyme' style. As always, your poems dazzle. --David
