Featherless Eagle

Featherless Eagle

A Poem by Holly Mason

Poor bald eagle where are your feathers?
right here, do you not see them
Poor bald eagle where is your pride?
right here on these pages I have nothing to hide
Poor bald eagle so lonely you appear.
right now I am because I am featherless
Poor bald eagle why are you featherless?
because only a real eagle needs to fly
