News Cast-cancelled

A brand new news cast.

Covering only good, what a blast!

Tommy's report card he got all a's.

Simply cool, is all we can say.

Mrs.Carver lost  her knife.

Who found it?The mayors wife.

Mr.Grains back is out for awhile.

Little Tommy helps, even walking a mile.

Ralph's truck is stuck in the ditch.

Mrs.Falters truck has a new hitch.

Henry could not buy his meds,

so Larry got himself out of bed.

Down to the store to save his friend.

The gift of giving, it never ends.

The news cast only lasted a week.

For murder is what the people seek.

Shot some one, another is stabbed.

Found a dead baby in a crazy guys lab.

Sad but true, this is what we would rather hear.

We have the remote, clicking ,without a trace of a tear.

it is funny. My first satellite system I got was for all positive programming. Nothing but get inspirational Stuff all day... After about 8 months, I wanted to slit my wrists,and had to ge the Dish Network...

Not bad, but check that spelling and grammar. You have a fantastic idea here and it's very powerful, but I feel like you could expand perhaps just a little more. As it stands, the ending is a little abrupt. Other than that, very well done.

I think it makes people feel better about their own lives sometimes hearing the misfortunes of other's. There's always someone worse off than you, or that's what my mother used to tell me anyway...yeah this news cast would blow since no one would be especially interested if Tommy got all A's, now if Tommy tried to blow up the school, that would be news and everyone could say...wtf is wrong with his parents, teachers, etc...what I meant to say, yep I agree, and good one Holly! ;-)

So true! I really love this poem! It's really sad what social media has turned us all into, everyone would much rather hear the bad than the good! I love how you captured this in your poem. I love the flow of it, the rhymes. I could feel a beat when I was reading your poem. Very lovely, the last couple of lines really caught me!
