Deaths mysterious definition problem

Deaths mysterious definition problem

A Poem by Holly Mason

Sitting in the library,
words are all around.
Pulling up a chair and talking,
this is what the interview found...
The words did not take the fifth.
They said exactly how it happened.
The word death had picked a girl,
and stupidly he told all the world.
We tried to protect her, to keep her safe.
Death was beating, his hands he did chafe.
So introducing some new words to the scene.
We lead the investigation, with a new eye so clean.
But then more words started to clutter,
and no word can mean more then the other.
So death found her and sadly we cried.
But nothing for death even though he tried.
For her education was not up to par,
her definition was off by far.
So instead of death, she now holds a flower.
Her choice of word meaning wrought true by hours.
They can now close this word case,
with a quick witted pen and a definition chase.

I really like how this poem flows and I love the darkness of it.

thank you very much....
this makes me think of how poets often commit suicide with their pens...

unfortunately some don't go by that definition and do it for real...

as with sylvia plath, anne sexton, john berryman, randall jarrall and others...

so sad that the words can't free the intentions and turn them to something else.

clever wording here..you do metaphors so well.
